EMDR
EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) is one of the tools I use to help clients gently process painful or overwhelming experiences. It’s based on the Adaptive Information Processing (AIP) model, which recognizes that our brains naturally move toward healing—but when trauma happens, especially in the absence of safety or support, those memories can get stuck in the nervous system in a way that keeps us feeling triggered, anxious, or shut down.
Using this approach, we work together to revisit those stuck places in a safe and supportive way, helping your brain and body make sense of what happened and find relief in the present.
As with everything I offer, EMDR is never a one-size-fits-all process. We’ll move at your pace and integrate it in a way that aligns with your goals and nervous system.
EGO-state Therapy or “parts-work”
Ego State Therapy, or “parts work,” is a way of understanding the different "parts" of ourselves that carry emotions, beliefs, or protective roles shaped by past experiences. Especially for those navigating trauma, these parts can hold pain, fear, or unmet needs—and may show up in the present through patterns that feel confusing or hard to shift.
In our work together, we’ll gently build awareness of these parts with compassion and curiosity—not to fix or get rid of them, but to understand and care for them. You might notice an inner critic, a younger part that feels overwhelmed, or a part that shuts down in response to stress. My role is to help you connect with these parts in a safe, supportive space so they no longer have to carry the weight alone.
This approach pairs beautifully with EMDR and my relational style of therapy, creating a healing process that is deeply attuned, collaborative, and grounded in self-understanding.
DBT
Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) offers practical tools for navigating intense emotions, building healthier relationships, and staying grounded in the present. While my approach is relational and focused on healing the roots of trauma, I also believe in offering skills that help you feel more resourced and supported day-to-day.
In our work together, I may weave in DBT skills like mindfulness, emotion regulation, distress tolerance, and interpersonal effectiveness—always in a way that feels compassionate and tailored to your unique needs. These tools can help you feel more in control when emotions feel overwhelming or when old patterns show up in relationships.
Used alongside EMDR, parts work, and relational attunement, DBT becomes part of a holistic approach that not only supports deep healing but also helps you feel more equipped in your everyday life.
