EMDR Intensives
-
EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) Intensive is a focused, time-limited form of therapy designed to help you process and heal from trauma more quickly than traditional weekly sessions. In an EMDR intensive, Lexi will work with you over a series of longer or consecutive sessions (often within a few days or a weekend) to target and process traumatic memories, negative beliefs, and emotional distress.
-
The goal of an intensive session is to help you make significant progress in a shortened period of time.

Lexi prioritizes a thorough evaluation of each individual client and their unique needs before recommending an intensive level of EMDR treatment, including assessment for dissociative tendencies, influence of childhood trauma, and prior therapeutic work. Intensives are often most appropriate for those looking to process a recent single incident trauma, or a string of similar or interconnected traumas. Prior work in a therapeutic setting and previous development of EMDR resources and coping strategies are are indicators of potential readiness for an EMDR intensive. If you do not have this experience, Lexi will work with you to build these strategies before engaging in intensive EMDR work.
